CVE-2023-31007Network attack vector

Authenticated session persistence via skipped credential revalidation

Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2024

Improper authentication in Apache Pulsar Broker before 2.9.5, 2.10.0 through 2.10.3, and 2.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to retain access. When authenticateOriginalAuthData is false, the broker trusts proxy-supplied identity data or a crafted connect command instead of revalidating expiring client credentials. Authentication must be enabled and that broker option set to false; an established session can remain authorized after its credentials expire.
