Stored script execution via unsanitized profile fields
Published Jun 3, 2023 · Updated Jan 8, 2025
Stored XSS in the Teampass user profile form before 3.0.9 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in another user's browser. The profile save handler inadequately sanitized name, surname, and email values, while the server-side dataSanitizer lacked AntiXSS filtering. A low-privileged user must store a crafted profile value and another user must view the affected content, enabling browser-context access to vault data and actions available to that viewer.
