Unauthenticated console command execution via unfiltered plugin messages
Published May 1, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
Command injection in Triton before 3.8.4 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary Spigot console commands through a plugin message. With bungeecord mode enabled, the triton:main handler accepts player-originated CustomPayload subchannel 2 and executes its string as a console command without filtering the sender. Any player who can connect to an affected server can obtain server-operator privileges; host command execution depends on another installed plugin.
