CVE-2023-30855Network attack vector

Arbitrary file write via unsanitized export filename

Published May 8, 2023 · Updated Jan 29, 2025

Path traversal in Pimcore before 10.5.18 allows remote authenticated users to create arbitrary files or append data to existing files. CustomReportController's createCsvAction joins the unvalidated exportFile request value to the system temporary directory and opens the resulting path in append mode without reducing it to a basename or enforcing a CSV extension. Access requires a user with the reports permission; combining the file write with controllable report data permits a web shell and PHP execution as the web server.
