Terminal corruption via unescaped remote control characters
Published May 8, 2023 · Updated Jan 29, 2025
Output neutralization failure in Mutagen before 0.16.6 and 0.17.0 through 0.17.0 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt terminals. The list and monitor commands and daemon logging render control characters from endpoint errors, paths, names, and logs without neutralization; Mutagen Compose is affected before 0.17.1. An attacker must control a synchronized file or remote synchronization or forwarding endpoint and induce operator viewing; ordinary modern terminals face display corruption, while code execution is limited to susceptible legacy terminals.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
