Stored XSS via unescaped email log previews
Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Awesome Motive WP Mail Logging 1.11.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts through logged email content. The email-log HTML and JSON previews render stored subject or body data from site-generated messages without complete sanitization and output escaping. An unauthenticated visitor must first influence an outgoing message, such as through a contact form, and a privileged user must view its log; script execution is limited to that user's browser context.
