Database password disclosure via REST API response
Published Apr 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2024
Credential exposure in Apache Superset 1.3.0 through 2.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to read stored database passwords. The DatabaseRestApi response for /api/v1/database returns configured database credentials in clear text instead of withholding passwords. The account must hold specific database-data permissions, and disclosure is bounded to the privileges granted by each exposed database credential.
