Administrator code execution via modified driver package
Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Dec 12, 2024
Package authenticity failure in Ricoh Printer Driver Packager NX 1.0.02 through 1.1.25 allows local users to execute code as administrator. The generated package fails to verify its integrity after creation and launches attacker-modified contents under credentials embedded for unattended driver installation. Exploitation requires access to modify and run a generated package containing encrypted administrator credentials; inserted code then runs with those privileges.
