Privileged activity launch via parcel mismatch
Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Improper input validation in Knox AI on Samsung Mobile Devices running Android 13 allows local users to launch privileged activities. Knox AI accepts a mismatched parcel without properly validating it before launching an activity, allowing the request to cross a privilege boundary. Local access to an affected device is required; Samsung reports privileged activity launch, not arbitrary code execution or full device control.
