CVE-2023-30678

Arbitrary file write via zip path traversal

Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Oct 24, 2024

Path traversal in Samsung Calendar before 12.4.07.15 on Android 13 allows local attackers to write arbitrary files. The Calendar application's zip extraction accepts archive entry paths without sufficient directory confinement, permitting traversal outside the intended extraction location. Exploitation requires local access to process a crafted calendar archive; the demonstrated consequence is file integrity and possible confidentiality impact without reported service interruption.
