Arbitrary directory deletion via installation directory junction
Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Oct 24, 2024
Improper integrity validation in Samsung Smart Switch PC before 4.3.23052_1 allows local users to delete arbitrary directories. The installer accepts an attacker-created directory junction in its working directory and follows that redirection during installation-time cleanup. A low-privileged local account can redirect deletion to a chosen directory without user interaction, affecting file integrity only.
