Out-of-bounds write via unvalidated lock input
Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Oct 31, 2024
Improper input validation in libsec-ril on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Jul-2023 Release 1 allows local users to write out of bounds. OemPersonalizationSetLock fails to validate an input value before libsec-ril uses it in a memory write, permitting the write to cross its intended boundary. Low-privileged local access is required; public vendor details establish memory corruption but do not identify a crash, code-execution path, or broader consequence.
