Local privilege escalation via arbitrary dump file write

Arbitrary file overwrite in dmidecode before 3.5 allows local users to gain elevated privileges through the --dump-bin option. The write_dump path writes crafted SMBIOS data from an attacker-selected input to an attacker-selected destination without safely constraining that path. Exploitation requires elevated execution through a configuration such as an unrestricted sudo rule; crafted output can replace or create privileged files and yield root access.
