CVE-2023-30623Network attack vector

Runner command execution via pull-request title interpolation

Published Apr 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Command injection in embano1 WIP before 2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands through a pull request title. The action.yml run step interpolates untrusted title and regex inputs directly into a Bash conditional instead of passing them as data. A GitHub account and a repository workflow that runs the action on pull requests are required; exploitation runs with the workflow's runner privileges and can expose CI secrets.
