User-assisted code execution via unrestricted attachment uploads
Published Apr 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Kiwi TCMS before 12.2 allows remote authenticated users to deliver malicious code through attachments. The attachment upload path accepts arbitrary file types without validators, allowing executable files and files containing embedded JavaScript to be stored and served. An authenticated account must upload the file and a victim must click it; the result is browser script execution or execution of a downloaded program.
