CVE-2023-30576Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via dangling RDP audio pointers

Published Jun 7, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024

Use-after-free in Apache Guacamole 0.9.10 through 1.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code in the guacd process. After user teardown, audio_buffer_ack follows the audio buffer's dangling user and socket pointers when the RDP host closes audio input, invoking a freed socket lock handler. Exploitation requires an RDP connection with audio input and connection sharing plus favorable heap and timing conditions; successful control runs with guacd privileges.
