Data interception and modification via unencrypted IUI bus
Published Jul 13, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Missing encryption in the IUI bus of BD Alaris PCU Model 8015 12.1.3 and earlier allows attackers to read or modify module data. The PCU exchanges infusion data with attached modules over the IUI bus without cryptographic confidentiality or integrity protection. Physical access, a specially crafted device, and an active infusion are required; exploitation is confined to reading or changing bus data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
