CVE-2023-30546

Memory disclosure via undersized Antelope index filenames

Published Apr 26, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in Contiki-NG 4.8 and earlier allows attackers with direct Antelope DBMS access to disclose adjacent memory. The storage_get_index and storage_put_index functions allocate a merged relation-and-suffix filename without room for its trailing null byte, so cfs_open reads past the buffer. Exploitation requires direct DBMS access, such as the ability to issue shell commands on the IoT node; only confidentiality impact is reported.
