Traffic tampering via disabled TLS validation
Published Apr 12, 2023 · Updated Feb 7, 2025
Improper TLS validation in NeuVector Vulnerability Scanner Plugin 1.22 and earlier allows man-in-the-middle attackers to alter scanner traffic. The plugin's NeuVector server connection client unconditionally disables both certificate and hostname verification during TLS setup. Exploitation requires a network position between Jenkins and its configured scanner and permits traffic tampering, with no reported direct disclosure or service interruption.
