Remote code execution via unchecked request parameter
Published Apr 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in initWebs in Tenda AC5 15.03.06.28 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted web request. The function passes a user-provided request parameter to a stack buffer without checking its length, allowing crafted data to overwrite adjacent memory. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation can execute code or crash the router.
