CVE-2023-30367Public exploit

Credential disclosure via eager configuration decryption

Published Jul 26, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024

Cleartext credential storage in mRemoteNG 1.76.20 and earlier and 1.77.3-dev allows local users to read saved credentials from memory. At startup, the configuration loader decrypts entire connection configurations into process memory before any connection is opened. A user able to dump the process can recover plaintext configuration data; saved passwords are exposed when the default encryption key is used.
