CVE-2023-30351Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root shell access via hard-coded credentials

Published May 10, 2023 · Updated Jan 27, 2025

Hard-coded credentials in Tenda CP3 firmware 11.10.00.2211041355 allow remote attackers to obtain a root shell through Telnet. The firmware stores the root password hash in its shadow file with reversible protection, exposing a password that authenticates the built-in root account. Network reachability to Telnet is sufficient for remote access; physical access to the UART serial interface provides the same root shell.
