Authenticated code execution via poisoned log inclusion
Published May 12, 2023 · Updated Jan 24, 2025
Local file inclusion in SoftExpert Excellence Suite 2.x before 2.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to read server files. defaultframe_filter.php Base64-decodes the managerPath POST parameter and passes the resulting path to require_once(), which includes the chosen file without restricting it to an approved directory. Valid credentials are required; including an error log poisoned through a crafted Referer header executes injected PHP code, extending disclosure to server-side command execution.
