CVE-2023-30312Public exploit

TCP session hijacking via disabled window tracking

Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Nov 7, 2024

Session hijacking in OpenWrt 18.06 and later allows attackers on the same Wi-Fi network to impersonate TCP endpoints. OpenWrt enables nf_conntrack_tcp_no_window_check by default, so Netfilter accepts forged reset packets with arbitrary sequence numbers and deletes the victim connection's NAT mapping. Attackers on the same Wi-Fi network can then recover TCP sequence state, terminate connections, or inject plaintext traffic as either endpoint.
