CVE-2023-30297Network attack vector

Traffic interception via ignored certificate errors

Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024

Certificate-validation failure in N-able N-central before 2023.4 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept agent-server traffic. The N-central agent does not recognize certificate errors while connecting to the N-central server and continues rather than rejecting the invalid peer certificate. The attack requires control of the agent-to-server network path; N-able's description conflicts with the CVE record's claim of local code execution through monitoring.
