Authenticated command execution via unsanitized POST input
Published Jun 23, 2023 · Updated Dec 5, 2024
Command injection in RaspAP raspap-webgui 2.8.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands. The hostapd.php handlers pass unsanitized interface and txpower POST values to exec(), while configure_client.php repeats the unsafe operation. Valid web-interface credentials and a CSRF token are required; commands initially run as www-data, while default sudo permissions enable root access.
