Account impersonation via unchecked userId
Published May 4, 2023 · Updated Jan 29, 2025
Authorization bypass in affected newbee-mall builds allows remote authenticated users to assume another user's account by changing a userId. PersonalController.updateInfo accepts the request's user-controlled mallUser.userId and passes it to NewBeeMallUserServiceImpl.updateUserInfo without confirming that it matches the authenticated session. Any registered user can submit another account's identifier, switch into that identity, and read or alter its profile and order data.
