Unauthenticated code execution via formats template injection
Published May 26, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Server-side template injection in Camaleon CMS before 2.7.4 allows remote attackers to execute Ruby code via a crafted formats parameter. The administrative media upload flow passes formats into cama_tmp_upload and renders the resulting error directly, evaluating embedded ERB directives. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation can read server files and execute code in the CMS process.
