Published May 12, 2023 · Updated Jan 24, 2025
Server-side template injection in Craft CMS 3.8.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted Section parameter. The Section parameter accepts attacker-controlled template syntax and evaluates it server-side instead of treating the supplied value solely as data. Exploitation requires user interaction, after which injected template code runs with the CMS server's privileges.
