Stored XSS via unsanitized area parameter
Published May 31, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Local Service Search Engine Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run browser scripts. The save_area action stores the area POST value, and the administrator Areas page renders it without neutralizing script markup. An authenticated request must first store the value, and execution occurs when a user visits the Areas page, allowing content changes in that browser.
