Unauthenticated file disclosure via path traversal
Published Jun 22, 2023 · Updated Dec 6, 2024
Local file inclusion in hhxsv5 laravel-s before 3.7.36 allows remote attackers to read server files through crafted request paths. The handleStatic method URL-decodes the request URI, appends it to static_path without canonicalizing and confining the resolved path, and serves the result when it names a file. Exploitation requires handle_static to be enabled and exposes files readable by the LaravelS service account without authentication.
