Drive serial disclosure via unauthenticated TER response
Published Jun 22, 2023 · Updated Dec 6, 2024
Information disclosure in Fortra Globalscape EFT 8.0.0.38 through 8.1.0.14 allows remote attackers to derive the server drive serial. The administration service accepts a header-only message type 0x138 without login and returns a lightly obfuscated SHA-256 value derived from the drive serial in its HASH field. Exposure requires network access to the remote administration port; the small serial-number space permits recovery of the underlying identifier.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
