Administrator access via forgeable configuration signature
Published May 31, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authorization bypass in Wordapp Plugin for WordPress 1.6.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain administrator access. The wa_pdx_op_config_set function accepts an insufficiently unique signature, letting unauthenticated requests replace validation_token in the plugin configuration. The replacement unlocks remote-control functions, including generation of an administrator access URL, enabling full privilege escalation.
