Account takeover via weak recovery-link encryption
Published Jun 8, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in Tyche Softwares Abandoned Cart Lite for WooCommerce 5.15.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to access user accounts. The checkout-link handler decrypts a sequential cart identifier with a hardcoded or null security key, then passes the resolved user ID to wp_set_auth_cookie. A target account must have an abandoned cart; customer data is exposed, and an administrator's abandoned cart enables site takeover.
