Authenticated command execution via unsanitized VPN process ID
Published Apr 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X18 firmware 9.1.0cu.2024_B20220329 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The disconnectVPN handler appends the unvalidated pid value directly to a kill command and passes the result to CsteSystem for execution. A valid web-interface token obtained after login is required, after which shell separators permit commands to run with the router web process privileges.
