CVE-2023-29779Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Battery exhaustion via unchecked Zigbee polling interval

Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Feb 3, 2025

Denial of service in Sengled Dimmer Switch 0.0.9 allows remote attackers to crash the device with crafted Zigbee messages. The firmware accepts a Set_short_poll_interval command without adequately limiting the reporting interval, then repeatedly reports device status until its battery is exhausted. An attacker needs Zigbee network access but no authentication or user interaction; the documented effects are device crashes and battery drain.
