Out-of-bounds read in OpenSC 0.23.0 allows attackers to crash a consuming process or expose heap data via malformed CardOS ASN.1. In cardos_have_verifyrc_package, the first sc_asn1_find_tag call advances the scan pointer while the loop retains the original remaining length, so a second tag search reads past the heap buffer. Reachability requires processing attacker-controlled data from a CardOS 4.3B or 4.4 smart card; the bounded outcomes are a process crash or disclosure of adjacent heap contents.
