Persistent crashes via unrestricted SharedPreferences insertion
Published Jun 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Denial of service in Leap Fitness Group Blue Light Filter 1.5.5 for Android allows local users to cause persistent crashes via a crafted app. An exported content provider accepts unrestricted inserts into SharedPreferences; excessive attacker-supplied key-value pairs are loaded at startup, exhaust memory, and crash the process. User interaction is required to run the unauthorized app, after which the persisted data retriggers the crash whenever Blue Light Filter starts.
