Privilege escalation via exposed preference provider
Published Jun 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Privilege escalation in Leap Fitness Group Blue Light Filter 1.5.5 for Android allows attackers to alter behavior through another app. An exposed content provider accepts inserted values from unauthorized apps and writes them into startup-loaded SharedPreferences, including the current_ct color-temperature field. A victim must run the attacking app; modified preferences can force abnormal display settings and compromise the filter's critical functionality.
