Persistent startup crash via unbounded preference writes
Published Jun 1, 2023 · Updated Jan 9, 2025
Denial of service in Story Saver for Instragram - Video Downloader 1.0.6 allows remote attackers to cause a persistent startup crash. The exposed TTMultiProvider accepts repeated ContentResolver insert calls that append attacker-controlled key-value pairs to the tt_sdk_settings SharedPreferences file without a size limit. The writes require no authentication or user interaction; the stored data exhausts memory when the application next opens, leaving it unable to start.
