App denial of service via unbounded database inserts
Published May 30, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Resource exhaustion in Wave Animated Keyboard Emoji 1.70.7 for Android allows local users to interrupt the app via database inserts. The dictionary-pack content provider accepts repeated inserts containing attacker-chosen paths and large clientid, uri, and additionalid values, continually expanding database files without a limit. A locally installed app can invoke the provider without user interaction until storage or another required resource is exhausted, denying keyboard availability.
