Browser script execution via unsanitized article content
Published May 1, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
Stored XSS in the WinterChenS blog application allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through blog articles. ContentDomain.setContent stores article content without neutralizing executable markup, and the public article view renders that stored content for readers. Article-editing access is required to plant the payload, and a reader must view the affected article before the injected code executes in that reader's browser.
