UI spoofing via obscured fullscreen notification

Published Jun 19, 2023 · Updated Dec 11, 2024

UI spoofing in Mozilla Firefox for Android and Firefox Focus for Android before 112 allows remote attackers to obscure fullscreen notices. Crafted pages combine fullscreen requests with overlapping Android UI surfaces because the browser renders the notice as an obscurable Snackbar. A user must open the page and activate its control; successful concealment hides the fullscreen transition and enables deceptive content to impersonate a trusted page.
