Authenticated code execution via template title rendering
Published Apr 18, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Eval injection in XWiki Platform allows remote authenticated users with document edit rights to execute code with programming rights. AdminTemplatesSheet renders an editable document title as XWiki syntax after escaping it only once, so nested async and Groovy macros survive rendering and run with programming rights. An account that can edit any document and add a TemplateProviderClass object can compromise the server without further user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
