Authenticated code execution via documentTree macro injection
Published Apr 16, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Eval injection in XWiki Platform allows remote authenticated users with document view rights to execute arbitrary server-side code. FlamingoThemesCode.WebHome places an unescaped document reference in the documentTree macro's root parameter, allowing crafted path text to inject Groovy, Python, or Velocity macros. The page and macro are installed by default, and ordinary view rights are sufficient to obtain programming rights and full access to the installation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
