WebSocket connection hijacking via missing origin validation
Published Aug 4, 2023 · Updated May 30, 2025
Cross-site WebSocket hijacking in Zoho ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager 12.6.165 allows remote attackers to access WebSocket connections. The endpoint accepts cross-origin WebSocket upgrade requests without validating the request origin, allowing an untrusted site to attach to the connection. Exploitation requires user interaction with attacker-controlled content, and the published consequence is limited to access to the WebSocket connection.
