Process-correlation logging disruption via inefficient regular expression
Published Dec 21, 2023 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Inefficient regular-expression processing in Heimdal Thor Agent allows remote attackers to disrupt Threat To Process Correlation logging. Public records do not identify the regular expression or input reported to trigger excessive processing in the Threat To Process Correlation module. Reachability requires the optional process-identification feature in Windows 3.4.2 and earlier or macOS 2.6.9 and earlier; Heimdal disputes any service interruption and describes only missing process identification in DNS logs.
