Session-data exposure via unauthenticated JMX console
Published Sep 12, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Improper authentication in Rockwell Automation Pavilion8 before 5.20 allows remote authenticated users to retrieve other users' session data. The JMX Console maps com.pav.jboss.jmx.HtmlAdaptorServlet to /jmx-console/HtmlAdaptor without a separate authentication requirement. Any authenticated application user can reach the console, obtain session data belonging to other users, and terminate those users' sessions.
