Authenticated service crash via malformed Unicode JSONPath
Published Jul 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Zabbix 6.0 through 6.0.14, 6.2 through 6.2.8, and 6.4 through 6.4.0 allow remote authenticated users to crash a server or proxy. JSON validation accepts invalid Unicode, after which JSONPath processing accesses an uninitialized buffer out of bounds instead of rejecting the string. The vendor score requires high privileges; the documented consequence is interruption of the targeted server or proxy process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
