Credential capture via HTTP Basic authentication
Published Jan 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Insufficiently protected credentials in PTC Kepware Server 6.14.263.0 and earlier allow attackers to capture user credentials. The web server uses HTTP Basic authentication, causing authenticated requests to transmit reusable credentials instead of using a capture-resistant scheme. An attacker must occupy an adjacent network position and induce user interaction; successful interception discloses credentials without altering data or interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
